Doris Newcomb / President and General Manager
Supervises station operations and is the person to contact if you are interested in placing a program on WFAX. She has more than 30
years of experience in broadcasting and business communications. WFAX was
begun in 1948 by her parents, Lamar and Genevieve Newcomb, from whom Doris
learned firsthand about the many aspects of station operation. After
graduating from The American University, Doris worked in journalism and
corporate communications and earned a masters degree from Georgetown
University. Doris became president of the family business, Newcomb Broadcasting
Corporation, in 1989 and assumed the role of WFAX general manager in 1994. Contact her at dnewcomb@wfax.com. |
Genevieve Newcomb / Corporate Secretary / Director
Co-founded WFAX with her late husband Lamar in 1948 and still plays an active
role in radio station operations. An accomplished, classically trained
pianist and church soloist, she served WFAX as program director and created
the station's original "good music" format. Over the years,
Genevieve admits, "I just wanted to play beautiful music and fought the
Lord all the way about going to an all religious format. But today, I can see
how He has used WFAX in ways that I never imagined."
